What does Bali is has to offer for Photographers?

It had been a while since I had been to Bali. It used to be a good escape from HK & Singapore for a good girls' weekend or even a family retreat when the kids were young. I was thrilled to be asked again by the lovely Salt-Water Sandals team to assist with their 2023 marketing campaign, however this time they needed diverse imagery to support their global campaign using one location. We chose Bali.

The biggest challenge of the brief was that we needed imagery to represent America, Europe, The UK, Asia and Australia. This certainly could not be achieved in Singapore alone.

Bali was suggested as a close enough location which would tick all of the boxes for the look and monumental number of shoes that needed to be shot.

Having worked with this team before, they were THE DREAM TEAM! Within a few weeks, briefs were pulled together, the hunt began for locations, wardrobe sourced, models were being scouted and call sheets were drawn.

It was an intense seven days, but we accomplished a huge amount in such a short time and created a wide range of looks for the various regions.

Now, I must say, I am a massive Salt-Water Sandal fan, but this brand of shoe is so versatile. The shoes can be dressed up, styled down, casual, beachy, resorty, which is what made the whole campaign so fun to shoot.

The thing I love most about shooting brands like this is being a part of such an exciting campaign and creating beautiful imagery. I was so thrilled with the results - here is a very small sneaky peak for you to see. Stay tuned on Instagram as I will be sharing more over the months of April and May.

Below is a snapshot of the various looks we created, that were carefully curated by the the production team (AKA C.E.O of Salt-Water Sandals Asia, UK & Europe, Rachael Laine) and stylist Tui Sang. This has been the biggest production shoot Salt-Water have ever done and huge credit to Rachael and Tui for doing a fantastic job of bringing it all together.
