School Photography
Towards the end of 2024 I set up a school photography business with my business partner, Sam - with the idea to create modern school portraits in Singapore, capturing natural, relaxed portraits that reflect each child’s true personality. As a business run by two mums, we understand the importance of beautiful school photos, creating calm, thoughtful sessions that result in timeless images for both families and schools.
Frequently asked questions
How long will the shoot take? The shoot should take around 1 hour. If photographing a newborn, please expect that more time for feeding, settling and outfit changes.
Can you recommend a shoot location? Should you book with me, I can provide you with a list of outdoor locations that I highly recommend. For outdoor shoots, the sessions are normally taken in the lightest locations in your home. The home is a great place for little ones to feel at ease in their own natural environment. It also allows any sentimental props or backdrops to be incorporated into the session. Most importantly, it's the place where kids feel most relaxed.
What should we wear? I always suggest for Mum to choose her outfit first and then get the family to co-ordinate their outfits around hers. That way Mum can feel most comfortable and relaxed. I always suggest a similar colour palette or neutral palette works well, as it always looks clean. However, if your style is bright and patterned, just make sure other members of the family aren’t wearing anything too bold that will clash when sitting together. Usually one patterned dress / shirt is usually enough. I usually request to steer away from the adults wearing black. Try to avoid wearing bold aquas, black or bold prints. These do not photograph well. Also try and avoid any clothing with large logos. Wear clothing you / your kids feel most comfortable in. I want to capture you 'feeling you'. Textured and pale-coloured blankets, wraps or swaddles also work well for shooting little ones.
What happens if it is raining? Given that weather in Singapore can be temperamental, if it is pouring with rain or a dull grey day, I will recommend we reschedule to another day. I know it is an investment, so I want to make sure you get the most out of your session. I will prioritise to schedule your shoot as early as possible.
When will I be able to view the photos? It takes 2-3 weeks before you receive your password protected private gallery. Please let me know if you need your images for a specific date, so that I can accommodate delivery.
Do you assist with prints or help with finding the right products for our home? Yes, I provide help and support with helping you with printing and finding products that suit your space. I have a range of products available, if you require something bespoke, I can certainly help you source it. Prints take 2-3 days, framed prints and lumitiles up to 1 week.
What payment do you accept? I accept: cash, Paynow and online transfers. Payment is required before the shoot date.
Who owns the copyright of our purchased images? By my service, you understand that the copyright of all the images is assigned to Katie Martin-Sperry Photography. If you do not wish for your images to be used for promotional purposes, kindly inform me at the time of booking or on the day of the shoot.
